Epilogue
And that's that, two years plus a bit in the life of the farm. I'm not done playing the game by a long shot, but four of these journals should be plenty.
At first I really thought the GameCube Harvest Moon was a smaller game than some we'd previously seen in the series, but the more I play the more I see that it might be the most epic of them all. I do find the pacing a bit off in places and it takes a bit longer than I'd like to get to grips with some of the systems in the game (seed level increases, for example), but as frustrating as it can be to not know how to do something it's also incredibly rewarding to reason your way to what turns out to be, once you get there, a very logical solution. Dog doesn't like you? Feed it. Crops kind of bland? Fertilize them. I'm still not sure why I can do so much more work now than when I started, though. All that hard work has toughened my guy up, maybe? It'd make sense.
In the meantime I'm discovering new things as I go. Little things happening here and there that have the promise to turn into something big eventually, or maybe not. It's reportedly thirty years to the finish line and I've completed two so far. I kind of doubt I'll see the end, but at this point I think I'll be enjoying as much of the journey as I have the time to travel.
