Universal Studios was very excited to convey that 6 new screenshots were avaialable to share with the marsupial demographic of fans eager for the upcoming release of Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex. The new shots boast more of the exciting action-oriented themes which players will encounter such as the all new Crash mech and Coco's trademark scooter. The screens also project that the latest installment has a greater degree of depth to explore and should provide plenty of challenge and fun for casual and veteran players of the series.

As elaborated in our initial preview, The Wrath of Cortex truly pushes the PlayStation 2 hardware to the limit, featuring rich, vibrant graphics which complements the classic gameplay that's been taken to the next level (no pun intended). Enjoy the new screenshots and we'll continue to provide periodic updates as they become available.

TNL was treated to a set of impressive screenshots showcasing the development of Crash's next adventure: Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex heading to the PlayStation2 this November.

I've been exceptionally impressed with Crash ever since his debut onto the console scene five years ago. Granted he doesn't hold the same spunk and appeal in comparison to the esteemed mascots - Sonic and Mario; in fact, Crash represents the closest thing to being a bonafide mascot for the PlayStation. Crash's success has encountered a bumpy ride, especially now that Naughty Dog is no longer behind the development of our bandicoot's future. Keeping an optimistic outlook on things, Traveller's Tales appears to have captured that atmosphere (though it's difficult to surmise the end result in regards to gameplay).

The Wrath of Cortex takes Crash and company into a new level, boasting enhanced graphics and the trademarked Crash-style, action-filled gameplay. As the title implies, Crash's arch-nemesis is once again up to no good as his latest scheme involves channeling the power of the Earth's natural elements to to rid himself of Crash Bandicoot once and for all (you gotta love a villan's persistance).

Taking on the role of our heroic bandicoot, Crash must dispose of enemies, avoid obstacles, jump platforms, ride vehicles, find hidden collectibles and ultimately thwart the evil Dr. Cortex's sinister plans (which of course involves saving himself from attempted destruction).

The Wrath of Cortex will allow you to play as either Crash or his sister Coco, features up over 40 hours of gameplay and a dynamic score written to correspond to the specific areas in each level. In addition, the new installment will contain 6 lush worlds to explore, 30 levels (divided into five worlds, each with a nasty boss awaiting you at the end), and of course, lots of hidden secrets for the diligent gamer types.

We'll have more details as they become available.
