Ok...I have no idea how to review this 'game'. It's not even appropriate to deem this a video game in the first place. For those who have younger aged nieces, daughters or sisters who keep an organizer and play video games, this might be the perfect solution for them.
As it states in the title, MKAO: Pocket Planner is an electronic organizer for your Game Boy Color. What's different about this title than any other pocket planner for the system (are there even any?) is that it's geared
towards the young girl gamers of the world, enticing them with the ever
popular Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen license (I can't believe I just typed
that).
MKAO: Pocket Planner comes with a Calender, a To Do List function, an Alarm Clock, and a category known only as 'Fun Stuff'. Upon closer observation,
this Fun Stuff category has numerous 'mini-games' that you can use. The
actual mini-games include a slot machine, a sliding puzzle and a matching
puzzle... none of which are actually mind-bending.
There's also the typical girl features, such as an advice feature and a...
'Crush Indicator' (I didn't even want to go there). Other 'normal' features
include an horoscope, a mini-Tamogotchi game with a dog, and a picture gallery
of Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. Ahem.
Needless to say, I didn't spend too much time on this game. I don't know
if this would appeal to younger girls (my sister is 18, I think she's outgrown
this game), but Acclaim has at least done some research into this previously
uncharted territory.
Bottom Line: I have no idea.
